The France most Americans never see, and never forget.
Flip crêpes with a private chef. Learn lace-making from a nationally trained artisan. Walk a Breton market with someone who knows every vendor. Sail the Gulf of Morbihan at sunset with a local captain. At the end of each day, you return to your own private historic estate, exclusively yours for the week. This is not a tour. It is not a rental. It is something France rarely offers visitors: a way in.
There Is a France Most Visitors Never Find.
Most visitors to France see the same cities, the same monuments, the same restaurants that everyone else sees. Regal Quests was built for the ones who want something different. A lace-making artisan trained at the national workshop in Alençon. A private captain on the Gulf of Morbihan. A chef who cooks dinner just for your group, then leaves you to the evening. A guide who knows what really happened on the beaches of Normandy. France has always been defined by people who have devoted their lives to a single craft, a single region, a single art of living. For one week, that world is open to you.

Doors that don’t open for tourists
Private guides, sailors, musicians, chefs and artisans, built over two decades of relationships, not sourced from a directory. They bring you into real Breton life, not a version staged for visitors.
History you can stand inside
Megalithic monuments older than Stonehenge. The beaches of Normandy, three hours away with a private guide who knows what happened there. Mont-Saint-Michel at dusk. Southern Brittany puts you at the centre of two thousand years of history, none of it rushed.

France at your table
A private chef arrives at the estate, cooks a multi-course dinner from seasonal Breton produce and serves at your table. Walk a local market in the morning. Flip crêpes in the kitchen in the afternoon. Let the region feed you.

The France you came to find
Small preserved towns, prehistoric megaliths, wild Atlantic coastline, Celtic music and a food culture built on oysters, galettes and cider. This is the France most visitors imagine but rarely find. Brittany has kept it intact.

A Base, not a Destination
The estate is where you return each evening: a grand private salon, 50 acres of parkland and a rare arboretum of trees from around the world. The days belong to Brittany. The evenings belong entirely to you.

Exclusively yours
The entire estate and its 50 acres belong to your group. No other guests, no shared spaces, no hotel lobby. A private historic home that is your base for a week of genuine discovery.

Three Ways to Live France, Not Just Visit It.
Three ways to immerse yourself in France, not tour it. Each journey is built around a different dimension of Breton life: its food, its history, or its art of living slowly. All include exclusive use of the estate and access to experiences your group will not find on any other itinerary. Choose what speaks to how you want to spend your week, then make it your own.

Refined Romantic Getaway
For two or more couples, or a small group of close companions, who want to slow down and actually taste France rather than rush through it. Breakfasts in the salon, evenings that drift into music and conversation, and curated local encounters at your own pace. The estate comes alive with at least four guests. The privacy is absolute regardless.
VIEW EXPERIENCE

Culinary Immersion
For guests who believe that understanding a place begins at the table. You will visit markets in Vannes and Auray, cook alongside a private chef, and eat dinner prepared and served just for your group in the estate dining room. The kitchen is yours between sessions. Wine tastings, pastry workshops and other culinary experiences are available to add on.
VIEW EXPERIENCE

Historical Journey
France carries more history per square mile than almost anywhere on earth, and southern Brittany is no exception. Megalithic monuments older than Stonehenge, a Celtic culture that predates the French state, and three hours north, the beaches of Normandy where June 6, 1944 changed the world. Private guides give you context that no audio tour can. You return each evening to the quiet of the estate.
VIEW EXPERIENCE
“We just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at your beautiful château.
It was the perfect base for experiencing the French countryside and its charming small towns. We would never have enjoyed such an authentic visit to France had it not been for our time at the château.”Sandy S. – USA

Our Story
Regal Quests is operated by a registered French nonprofit association dedicated to preserving the estate and its cultural heritage. Since the mid‑2000s, the château has discreetly hosted small groups and charity contributors, pairing private stays with meaningful support for cultural and philanthropic work. We created Regal Quests for travelers who value authenticity, privacy, and cultural depth over mass‑market luxury. Our journeys are not designed to be consumed but to be lived—slowly and intentionally—within a private historic setting that feels more like a personal residence than a destination.

Shaped Over Centuries
The estate has evolved over centuries, reflecting layers of French history and private life. Its origins trace back to an early manor once located nearby, followed by an 18th-century country retreat created for a noble family, before the construction of the present château in the late 19th century. Built as a private residence by a family returning to France after years abroad, the château bears subtle symbols of faith, continuity, and tradition, visible in its decorative details and architecture. The surrounding park and arboretum were planted during this period and remain an integral part of the property, home to remarkable trees that give the setting its quiet, timeless character.
