1. Who we are
Association Château de Kerangat, a French non-profit association (association loi 1901) based in Plumelec, Brittany, France, operates the Château de Kerangat and offers stays; experiences are arranged independently by guests, under the Regal Quests name and through the website regalquests.info.
These Terms & Conditions apply whenever you book a stay, purchase an Experience, or make a donation through regalquests.info or any linked booking or contribution page.
2. Bookings and reservations
Bookings for accommodation may be made through the booking facilities provided on the Regal Quests website. By submitting a booking, the customer confirms that they have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions and any additional terms specifically applicable to the stay booked.
Accommodation
Accommodation offered by Regal Quests is subject to availability, minimum-stay requirements, occupancy limits, and other conditions stated on the relevant product page at the time of booking.
Full payment is due at the time of booking. A booking is confirmed only after payment has been successfully completed and a booking confirmation has been issued by Regal Quests.
Unless otherwise stated on the relevant product page, cancellations made 30 days or more before the scheduled arrival date are fully refundable. Cancellations made less than 30 days before arrival are non-refundable, but the reservation may be transferred to another guest or rescheduled for a future stay, subject to availability and any applicable seasonal rate adjustment.
These cancellation provisions are subject to any mandatory cancellation, refund, or other rights provided by applicable law.
Any specific cancellation, booking, or other conditions displayed on the relevant product page at the time of booking form part of the contract.
Booking Confirmation
The booking confirmation, together with these Terms and Conditions and any specific terms stated on the relevant product page, constitutes the contractual terms applicable to the booking.
Where mandatory provisions of French or European law apply to a booking, those provisions shall prevail over any conflicting contractual provision.
3. Experiences
Regal Quests does not organize, sell, or arrange Experiences. Guests may independently arrange experiences and activities during their stay, including through the guest portal made available to confirmed guests.
Any such arrangement is a separate contract concluded directly between the guest and the independent provider of that experience or activity, on that provider’s own terms. Association Château de Kerangat is not a party to these arrangements, does not select, supervise, or endorse any provider, and does not receive payment on any provider’s behalf.
Association Château de Kerangat bears no responsibility for the booking, performance, conduct, or cancellation of any experience or activity arranged independently by a guest. Nothing in this section excludes or limits any responsibility of Association Château de Kerangat that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including any responsibility imposed by applicable French or European consumer law in relation to the accommodation it provides directly.
4. Donations and Contributions
If you choose to make a donation or contribution to Association Château de Kerangat (for example, through the Château Maintenance Fund):
Your gift is voluntary and, once processed, is non-refundable.
This gift is not tax-deductible in the United States or in France. Association Château de Kerangat does not hold French intérêt général / rescrit fiscal status, and is not a US 501(c)(3) organization or affiliated with one.
No goods or services are provided in exchange for your gift.
Donations support the general maintenance and preservation of the château and its park, unless a specific purpose is stated on the contribution page.
Card payments are processed securely through Stripe (and, for existing arrangements, PayPal). We do not store your full card details.
4a. Charity Partner Stays
Association Château de Kerangat works with US charities that offer a stay at the Château de Kerangat as a fundraising item, for example through an auction or similar event.
In this arrangement, a charity makes a contribution to Association Château de Kerangat in exchange for the right to nominate a guest who may book a stay at the Château. This contribution is earned by Association Château de Kerangat once received and is non-refundable, whether or not the nominated guest ultimately books, reschedules, or takes up the stay. This contribution is made in exchange for a service and is not a gift or donation to Association Château de Kerangat. It is not tax-deductible, and Association Château de Kerangat does not represent it as such. Charities are responsible for correctly describing this arrangement to their own donors and bidders, including for any fair market value or tax-deductibility disclosures required under applicable law.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the nominated guest must book their stay within 36 months of the charity’s contribution being received. Once booked, the stay is subject to these Terms and Conditions, including Section 2 (Bookings and reservations), in the same way as any other accommodation booking.
5. Payments and Currency
All prices for accommodation offered through the Regal Quests website are stated in euros (€) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise expressly indicated.
Payment for accommodation is due in full at the time of booking. A booking is confirmed only after the required payment has been successfully received.
Payments are processed through the payment method made available on the website or through a payment link provided by Regal Quests. The total amount payable by the customer will be stated before payment is made.
Association Château de Kerangat reserves the right to decline or cancel a transaction where payment is unsuccessful, reversed, or cannot be verified.
6. Your data
Association Château de Kerangat processes personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable French data-protection law.
Information about the personal data we collect, how it is used, the purposes and legal bases for processing, data retention, recipients of personal data, and the rights available to individuals is provided in our Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the text, photographs, graphics, logos, and other original content published on regalquests.info and kerangat.org are owned by, or used with the authorization of, Association Château de Kerangat / Regal Quests.
Some photographs, images, or other materials appearing on the websites may be supplied by independent facilitators, service providers, photographers, or other third parties. Where this is the case, Association Château de Kerangat uses such material with permission for the purposes of its websites and related marketing.
The website content may not be copied, reproduced, modified, distributed, published, or otherwise used without the prior written permission of the relevant rights holder. Permission to display third-party material on the Regal Quests website does not transfer or grant any right to reproduce or distribute that material.
8. Liability and Responsibility
Association Château de Kerangat is responsible for performing the contractual obligations that it undertakes in connection with accommodation, subject to the limitations and exclusions permitted by applicable law.
For accommodation provided at the Château, Association Château de Kerangat is responsible for the accommodation and facilities that it provides directly, subject to these Terms and Conditions and applicable law.
Experiences and activities arranged independently by guests, including through the guest portal, are not organized, sold, or supervised by Association Château de Kerangat. Association Château de Kerangat is not responsible for the booking, performance, conduct, or cancellation of any such experience or activity, which is governed solely by the terms of the independent provider.
Association Château de Kerangat shall not be liable for loss, damage, delay, injury or other consequences resulting from the customer’s own acts or omissions, failure to comply with reasonable instructions or applicable safety requirements, or circumstances for which the Association is not legally responsible.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability arising from mandatory consumer law.
9. Force Majeure
If Association Château de Kerangat is prevented from providing a confirmed stay due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disaster, fire, serious illness, government action, or similar events that could not reasonably have been foreseen or avoided, it will notify the affected guest as soon as reasonably possible.
In that case, the guest will be offered, at their choice, a full refund of amounts paid for the affected stay, or a rescheduled stay at a mutually agreed later date, subject to availability. Association Château de Kerangat’s liability in these circumstances is limited to the amount paid for the affected booking, and does not extend to any other loss or expense incurred by the guest, except where such limitation is not permitted by applicable law.
This section does not affect any mandatory rights a consumer may have under applicable French or European law.
10. Governing Law, Disputes and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with French law.
In the event of a dispute, a consumer may seek an amicable resolution and, where applicable, may have recourse to a consumer mediation service in accordance with applicable French law.
If an amicable resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be brought before the competent courts in accordance with the applicable rules of jurisdiction. Where permitted by law, the Tribunal judiciaire de Vannes (Vannes Judicial Court), France, shall have jurisdiction.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit any mandatory rights or protections available to consumers under the law applicable to their contract.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking, purchase, or donation applies to that transaction.
